Dominic has been a member of the community since January 2018. Moving to Monroe County, he joined the Board of Housing Quality Appeals for the City of Bloomington. Furthermore, in 2021, Dominic became an advisory member for Community Health Discussions, an initiative focused on working with stakeholders and elected officials in the community to achieve better health outcomes.

Following the 2020 primary elections, Dominic began to give more energy to county politics. In 2020 he joined the Stonewall Democrats of South Central Indiana as the Chair of Candidate Recruitment and Political Engagement. In this role, he helped to elect other LGBTQ+ candidates in allies in the seven counties covered by SD-SCI. Furthermore, Dominic began serving as Vice-Chair of Monroe County Young Democrats in 2021. Dominic is now running to become the first LGBTQ+ County Commissioner in the State of Indiana.
